ACCOUNT CLOSURE & DATA DELETION
Information about closing your UCE account, applicable fees, processing timeframes and the retention of records required by law.
Individual UCE Borderless Card Customers
You may request closure of your UCE Borderless Card account by contacting United Currency Exchange through our official customer support or contact channels.
UCE will process a complete account-closure request within 30 calendar days after receiving the request and any information or instructions reasonably required to complete the closure.
Before the account can be closed, any outstanding transactions, disputes, fees or other obligations must be finalised. Any remaining funds will be handled in accordance with the applicable Product Disclosure Statement and account terms.
Card Cancellation and Refund Fee
Card Cancellation & Refund Admin Fee including Funds Redemption Request: A$30
This fee is applied in accordance with the current UCE Borderless Card Product Disclosure Statement. This page does not replace or amend the Product Disclosure Statement.
B2B Virtual-Wallet Clients
B2B clients may request closure of their virtual-wallet account through their authorised representative. Requests are processed manually within 30 calendar days after UCE receives a complete request and any required information or instructions.
If a B2B client terminates its agreement before the agreement expiry date, an early-termination charge equal to one monthly subscription fee may apply in accordance with the applicable B2B agreement.
The B2B early-termination charge is separate from the UCE Borderless Card Product Disclosure Statement.
Data Deletion and Legal Record Retention
Closing an account does not always mean that every record can be deleted immediately. UCE is required to retain certain identification, verification, account and transaction records for at least seven years, or for any longer period required by applicable law.
These records may be retained to meet obligations under Australian anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws, financial-services laws, taxation laws, dispute-resolution requirements and other legal or regulatory obligations.
Information that UCE is not legally or reasonably required to retain will be securely deleted or de-identified in accordance with UCE's Privacy Policy and applicable law. Retained information will remain protected and access will be limited to authorised purposes.
What Happens After Closure
- Access to the closed account and its services will be disabled.
- Outstanding transactions, refunds, disputes and applicable fees must be finalised.
- Records that must be retained by law will not be erased when the account is closed.
- Retained records will not be used for unrelated marketing purposes.
